The remodeled “Café Montanha”.
The famous “Café Montanha” does not go unnoticed. Located since 1988 in “Largo da Portagem” in “Baixa de Coimbra” it has been a reference for decades and has recently been carefully remodeled.
The four partners (Rogério Alves, Pedro Márcio, António Fonseca and Pedro Campos) made the space larger, more functional and modern with the customer in mind.
With one of the most priveleged street terraces of Coimbra, “Café Montanha” distinguishes itself from other Cafés because in addition to the Conventual Pastry and the Salgados, it serves meals at any time of the day. Although there are always at least two dishes of the portuguese traditional cod, their salads, toasts, burgers and home-made pizzas are a great choice for customers who opt for quicker plates.
You can also choose to enjoy the sun filled terrace overlooking the Largo da Portagem with a delicious ice cream or if you prefer a drink they got it covered with a wide variety of brands of Wines, Old Port Wines and Gins (high-middle range) on offer. The “Montanha” is also one of the best spots to buy that special vintage port bottle from a wonderful collection.
