New in town.
Fernando Castelo Branco and Pedro Baptista, both engineers, jumped into a new life adventure in the historic center of the city, opening at number 1 of the famous street “Quebra Costas“, an artisan ice cream shop: Così (means “so” in Italian).
The two gelaterian masters have been trained in Italy with the Italian specialist Giacomo Schiavon and now produce, everyday and in front of customers and passers by, true artisanal ice-cream in the Italian way.
Gelataria Così adds their own twist by always giving preference to regional and national ingredients, taking into account Coimbra’s local markets and the seasonality of the produces. Always served with spatula, cone or “paper cup”, there are more than twenty ice-cream flavors available, among which: pistachio, salted caramel, curd cheese with caramelized fig, pineapple with basil, mint and coconut or drunken pear.
Gelataria Così promises to “engrave in the memory of those who go through the shop a sensory experience to remember and to repeat” being undoubtedly a point of mandatory stop when you are walking around the area of the “Arco e Torre da Almedina“, the “Sé Velha“, the “Quebra Costas” and the High Streets of Coimbra.
