Congress Centers

Coimbra is known for its prestigious University and excellent healthcare services, and it’s also an emerging hub for knowledge and tech-based industries. Because of this, the city offers a wide variety of meeting rooms and conference centers fully equipped to host all types of events.
Hotel Oslo Coimbra, with its central location, offers easy access to these venues – all within a 15-minute walk or drive.

Coimbra Congress Centre – Convento de São Francisco

Opened in 2016, this congress center blends historic architecture with modern amenities and can host up to 1,100 attendees. It’s one of the city’s premier venues for conferences and professional events. Located just across the river from Hotel Oslo and Coimbra’s historic downtown, it’s an easy 15-minute walk across the bridge.

Coimbra University Hospital Centre – HUC Campus

The University Hospital of Coimbra is part of one of the city’s academic campuses. It’s located outside the historic center, on the opposite hill from Hotel Oslo. Getting there is easy, either by car (about 10 minutes) or by bus, with a stop just steps from the hotel.

University of Coimbra – Faculty of Economics

The Faculty of Economics is part of the University’s Social Sciences campus, about 10 minutes from the hotel by car.
Auditorium capacity: 250 pax
Tip: Parking nearby can be tricky. If needed, ask the front desk which bus to take.

CCDRC – Regional Coordination and Development Commission of the Center

About a 10-minute drive from the hotel, but it can be a bit tricky to find if you’re not familiar with the city.
Max capacity: 150 pax
Tip: Take a taxi or ask the front desk for directions!

University of Coimbra – Rector’s Auditorium

Located on one of the oldest university campuses in the world, the Rector’s Auditorium is a landmark venue for academic and institutional events. It takes around 10 to 15 minutes to walk from Hotel Oslo to the University. Several bus lines also stop near the hotel, with a similar travel time.
Seating capacity: 470 pax
Tip: We recommend taking a taxi or bus to get there and walking back to enjoy the city views. Driving is not ideal due to limited parking availability in the area.

University of Coimbra – Law School Auditorium

This auditorium is located just beneath the University’s iconic main building, which now houses the Faculty of Law. From Hotel Oslo, it’s about a 10 to 15-minute walk. Several bus lines also serve the area near the hotel.
Tip: The route is mostly uphill, so we suggest taking a taxi or bus to get there and walking back down to enjoy the scenery. Driving is not recommended due to limited parking.

Bissaya Barreto Auditorium

Located outside downtown Coimbra, in the Citizenship and Knowledge campus in Bencanta. The easiest way to get there is by car, travel time is roughly 10 to 15 minutes.
