Gourmet Grocery Store
Vítor and Miguel (father and son) opened the Gourmet Grocery “Sabores do Douro” nine years ago at Largo das Olarias in downtown Coimbra.
“But how did a family from Moimenta da Beira, a village in the district of Viseu, end up in Coimbra?!” It was in answering this question that Miguel explained to us that when his sister, Diana, as so many traditionally do, came to study in Coimbra, she brought some products produced by the family, such as cherries and chestnuts, which conquered the people of Coimbra for their quality and flavor.
For nine years they have been successful in “Largo das Olarias” with many loyal customers. This grocery store, located in downtown Coimbra, offers tourists the chance to discover some of the incomparable flavors of Portuguese gastronomy: wines (especially from the Douro), sausages, cheeses, honey, jams, flavored sea salt, olive oil, sweets, fresh fruit and natural fruit juices. “Sabores do Douro” stands out for its quality and concern for the selection of the best products.
Opening hours: Monday to Saturday, from 8:30 am to 7:00 pm.
