A reference in the traditional commerce of the city.
It was in 1957, 61 years ago, that Manuel Marques Veigo opened the beautiful “Casa dos Linhos” in downtown Coimbra. As the name implies, this is a store that sells home textiles like towels, sheets, blankets, tablecloths, among others. During these 61 years, what differentiates this traditional shop is the quality of the selection of portuguese made product that it sells and, of course, the personalized, close and familiar service only a family run business provides. Cristina and Ricardo Veigo, the sons of the owner Mr. Manuel, are now in charge of the business but, every day, the father and his sons are in the store. Despite his advanced age, Mr. Manuel makes a point of going to this “second home” every day. We can fell Familiarity, sympathy and care from the first moment in “Casa dos Linhos”. Visitors from afar do not resist the embroidered tablecloths and carry with them this memory of Portugal. “Casa dos Linhos”, a long-standing reference among Coimbra’s traditional commerce. Hours: Monday to Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 2:15 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. They close on Sunday.
